Archery Association of Singapore National Interschool Competition 2008
The Archery Association of Singapore National Interschool Competition 2008 was held on the Fri & Sat 4th and 5th April 2008 at Zheng Hua National Archery Range. Student from Primary to Junior College levels represented in this ever first competition organized by the Archery Association of Singapore. We can see nearly 43 schools and Junior colleges represented in this Competition.
Archery Club of Singapore had fielded the ACS Junior Team to represent in the following categories the “Pri”, “C” & “B” standard divisions. The ACS Juniors comprised of student from various Primary & Secondary schools which does not have archery in the CCA program.
The weather was fine and perfect for archery at Zheng Hua Range, The ACS junior team archers enjoyed the competition and some parents were present at the shoot to support their children. At the end of the Individual 2nd round in the Primary Std Division, Aloysius Chia did a "magical shot" and scored 60 points for an end. It was a perfect end! After the lunch break in the afternoon, then came the team knockout rounds for all the divisions. Our "Pri" division team got a tie breaker twice against SAJS & later with PPCC team in the final. Tension built up as it was a one arrow shot out for each member of the team. The ACS team finally emerged Champion in the Pri division. Look at the happy faces on the photo at the right. At the end of the competition, AAS Secretary, Mr Nair gave away the medals to the winners of the competition on the 1st day and AAS President, Dr Wong presented medals to the winners on the 2nd day.
